Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 June 2026
Pinride ("Pinride", "we", "us") is a check-in app for motorcyclists. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the rights you have over it. It is written for the EU/EEA market (Sweden) and follows the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is the operator of Pinride. For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, contact [email protected].
What we collect
- Email address — used to sign you in with a one-time code. We do not use passwords.
- Profile — the display name you choose.
- Precise location — when you check in, we use your device location to confirm you are actually at the place (a geofence check) and to record where the check-in happened. Location is used while you have the app open; we do not collect background location.
- Check-ins and ratings — the places you check in at, the structured ratings you give, and the time of the check-in.
- Photos — any photo you choose to attach to a check-in.
- Limited technical data — basic information needed to operate the service securely (for example, a measure of how long a check-in form took to fill in, used only to flag implausible submissions for data quality).
What is public
Pinride is a shared map. The following are visible to other riders: places you add, the ratings you submit (shown in aggregate per place), photos you attach to a check-in, and your display name. Your email address is never shown publicly. Treat anything you add to a check-in or photo as public.
Why we use it (lawful basis)
- To provide the service (sign-in, check-ins, your personal log, the discovery map) — performance of our agreement with you.
- Location at check-in — your consent, given through the OS location permission; you can withdraw it at any time in your device settings (you then will not be able to check in).
- Keeping ratings trustworthy and the service secure — our legitimate interest in preventing fake or abusive data.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data while your account exists. Check-ins and the places you add may remain part of the shared map data. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to comply with the law. (Confirm exact retention periods before publishing.)
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers that run the app's infrastructure (such as our hosting and database provider, and our email delivery provider) under appropriate data-processing terms, and where required by law.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can request access to your data, correction, deletion, a copy of your data (portability), restriction of, or objection to, certain processing, and withdrawal of consent. To make a request, email [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority — in Sweden, the Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY).
Children
Pinride is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under the age required to consent to data processing in their country.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
